Johannesburg, South Africa – Rand Water and Base Pulse have joined forces to launch a dynamic summer water conservation campaign aimed at encouraging South Africans, particularly young people, to adopt water-wise habits and responsible water-use practices during the festive season. The campaign also seeks to promote proactive water conservation measures to help mitigate the potential impacts of El Niño-related drought conditions, reduce pressure on water resources and contribute to safeguarding long-term water security across South Africa.
At the heart of the campaign is a dedicated content integration across Base Pulse’s DStv Channel 322 programming, including the daily news and entertainment show Plugged In and the popular Saturday music block Street Anthems, airing every Saturday from 24th of October at 10:00 to 12:00, hosted by the energetic and influential Nomalanga Langa.
Throughout the summer period, viewers will be exposed to compelling water conservation messages, practical water-saving advice and creative storytelling designed to promote responsible water usage. A series of “Drip Responsibly” tips, educational segments and on-air promotions will encourage audiences to adopt simple but impactful habits that help preserve one of South Africa’s most precious resources.
The initiative extends beyond television through a comprehensive 360-degree awareness drive, leveraging social media, digital platforms, influencer engagement, audience activations and community conversations to amplify the campaign’s reach and impact.
