Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know
How do I submit my music video to Base Pulse for broadcast or digital distribution?
Submitting your music video to Pulse Media is straightforward. We accept submissions from independent artists, labels, and management companies across all African genres and the diaspora.
Here is the process:
- Send your submission to our content team via the music video portal on our website or directly to submissions@pulsemedia.africa
- Include the final video file (minimum 1080p), a completed metadata form, artist bio, and press shot
- Our programming team reviews all submissions within 10 working days and responds with placement options or feedback
- Approved videos are scheduled across our broadcast and digital platforms, with promotion included
There is no submission fee. We assess videos on production quality, cultural relevance, and fit with our current programming slate.
What exactly does a 360 partnership with Pulse media involve?
A 360° partnership means your brand is woven into every dimension of the Pulse ecosystem — not just a logo on a banner. Depending on your tier and objectives, this can include branded content across our broadcast and digital platforms, integration into original IP and scripted productions, co-developed campaigns, live event activations, and pan-African distribution. We build a bespoke plan around your business goals, audience, and timeline — so no two 360° partnerships look the same.
Can we co-develop original content or IP?
When I submit UGC to Pulse Media, do I give up ownership of my content?
No – you keep full ownership of your content. Submitting or tagging Pulse Media does not transfer your copyright to us. What you grant Pulse Media is a licence, not ownership. Specifically, by submitting content for consideration or tagging us in a post, you grant Pulse Media a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to feature, share, and promote your content across our platforms – with full credit to you as the creator.
Can we bring our own event idea to Pulse Media and build it together from scratch?
Absolutely — and some of our most exciting upcoming properties started exactly this way. If you have a concept for a live event, festival, awards ceremony, conference, or brand experience that needs media infrastructure, production capability, and a distribution platform to bring it to life, Pulse Media is built to be that partner. Under our Co-Creator model, we work with brand partners and rights holders to develop entirely new event IP — from naming and concept through to production, talent, ticketing, broadcast, and sponsorship sales. You bring the vision and the investment appetite; we bring the media machinery and the audience. Co-created events can be structured as one-off properties or annual recurring franchises with long-term commercial rights arrangements.
